Drew 3 – 3. Goals for: Joe (13), Michael (32), Cameron (75)
Goals Against (26), (83), (88)

Team: Richard, Joe, Matt, Tom, Ross; James, Cameron, Dicko, Jordan; Paul, Michael. No Subs

For this fixture we were without Brad, Will, Greg and new signing Rob, so we were only able to field a bare 11 players.

For most of the first half it didn’t matter that we had players missing as we dominated the play. Full back Joe continued his goal scoring run with a superb header from one of Jordan’s excellent corners. Jordan had an exceptional first half, as he ran the Baldock defence ragged.

Unfortunately from a rare attack the Baldock forward reacted quicker than our defence, after Richard had just made a good parrying save, and Baldock equalised. Our lead was quickly restored when Michael latched on to James’ pass to beat the keeper. It could have been extended further had the unqualified referee given us a penalty for the most blatant handball by a Baldock player, following one of our corners. It was typical of this referee’s performance on the day.

The second half was mainly played again in the Baldock half. When Cameron ran onto James’ pass to smash in for 3-1 it looked as if win number 7 in a row was about to happen. Regrettably, we didn’t defend as well as we should in the last 10 minutes and from nowhere Baldock grabbed a second goal and then earned a penalty, which their only really dangerous player converted.

Incredibly the game finished 3-3 and it felt like a defeat. Hopefully, this will serve as warning that we must continue to play and defend properly for the entire 90 minutes. Thankfully, we didn’t lose and are still unbeaten.
